WHAT IS BEING "COOL"? ... WHAT IS BEING "LUKEWARM"?
Have you ever given a thought as to what many say? Sometimes we really don't think about it, but what has the "church" professed? Have you ever said you wanna be "cool"?
In view of Scripture, what are many professing? ... Does "cool" mean anything good to the Lord? Lets see.
First lets take a look. lukewarm vs cool. ...
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Revelation 3:16
What about the definition of lukewarm...
1 : moderately warm : TEPID
2 : lacking conviction :
What about the definition of cool...
1 : moderately cold : lacking in warmth
See the difference? Lukewarm is moderately warm, while cool is moderately cold.
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Matthew 3:11
So can we be accepted of the Lord and be lukewarm? ... What if we are "cool"? ...Can we be either one with the fire of the Holy Spirit within?
Keeping in mind the Lord's words about the wicked, we can see even more as to why the "cool" term is used.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. John 3:20
Being cool is like going from a lukewarm pilot light down to just a flickering spark. A pilot light can burn, but only if one gets extremely close. A flickering spark is hardley even noticable. And so the wicked world wants Gods' people to be "cool"..
